Our client is seeking a Software Automation Systems Engineer with prior experience in the Maritime industry.

You will be working for a major player in the shipbuilding industry and transportation technology.

The mission:

• Propulsion & Energy Systems Design: Develop functional designs for propulsion control systems and energy management systems.
• PLC Programming: Program PLCs using our CODESYS software platform.
• Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers of motors, gearboxes, propellers, converters, fuel cells, and batteries for system integration.
• Automation System Design: Design and specify customer-specific automation systems based on their needs.
• Software Development: Collaborate with the development department to improve and expand our core software functionalities.
• Project Support: Participate in commissioning and acceptance testing of completed systems.
• Documentation: Create project-related documents such as user manuals, functional descriptions, and technical specifications.

Your profile

• Education: Bachelor's degree (BSc) or Master's degree (MSc) in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or Automation Technology. Alternatively, a completed apprenticeship in a relevant field is acceptable.
• Technical Expertise: Possess advanced knowledge of PLC programming and automation technology.
• Maritime Experience: A background in shipbuilding or the maritime sector (e.g., onboard assignments) is required.
• Language Skills: Fluency in English.
• Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally for both domestic and international assignments.
