Norddeutsche Pflanzenzucht Hans-Georg Lembke KG is a leading medium-sized plant breeding company with its headquarters on the Baltic Sea near the state capital of Kiel. We have been successfully breeding and marketing highly innovative plant varieties of winter and spring oilseed rape, field beans, peas, and forage plants for over 125 years. More than 240 employees work in research, breeding, production, consulting, and sales at three locations in Germany. We are successfully represented with our products in Europe, North America, Australia and Africa, and our rapeseed and legume varieties are leaders in many of these markets. Senior Market Intelligence Manager (m/f/d)

Your tasks

  • You will systematically and purposefully observe and analyse the activities of national and international competitors. At the same time, you keep an eye on the downstream stages (in particular agriculture and the processing industry) and recognise the trends and market developments that are relevant for us.
  • You will provide our breeders and our sales team with your analyses as an important decision-making aid for the orientation of the variety portfolio and for the expansion and development of new markets and business areas.
  • You will be involved in the identification of market-relevant variety characteristics and in the decision on the market launch of varieties.
  • With your expertise, you will support existing and future collaborations and accompany projects to open up new markets.
  • You will represent the company in committees and working groups of national and international associations.

Your profile

  • You have successfully completed a degree in agricultural science or a corresponding training programme. Specialisation in breeding/genetics is advantageous.
  • You have at least 5 years of professional experience in the seed sector in at least one of the following areas: Breeding, product management or sales.
  • You have a strong understanding of breeding and plant cultivation interrelationships as well as agricultural markets.
  • You think analytically and strategically.
  • You can present complex relationships in a simple and understandable way.
  • You value co-operative working and see yourself as a team player.
  • You are prepared to travel intensively (approx. 25 % of working time).
