Senior Automation Design Engineer

Role Description:
As the Senior Automation Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and validating technical automation solutions for production processes. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll be responsible for programming, upgrading, and testing systems that meet stringent project and industry standards. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented engineer passionate about automation and cross-functional teamwork.
Responsibilities:
-Develop and implement technical solutions that align with project goals.
-Program, upgrade, and replace automated systems to enhance production functionality.
-Conduct requirement analysis, risk assessments, and execute system testing (e.g., FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ).
-Maintain detailed technical documentation throughout project lifecycles.
-Coordinate with external vendors to support system upgrades and integrations, including packaging equipment.
-Provide project scoping and regular progress updates to project managers.
-Identify and resolve technical challenges to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements:
-At least 7 years of experience in automation projects, with proficiency in PLC and DCS (e.g., Siemens, B&R) and SCADA systems (e.g., iFix).
-Strong background in equipment engineering, commissioning, networks, and Windows AD.
-Prior experience in life sciences or pharmaceuticals, with knowledge of GAMP guidelines.
-Excellent communication skills and fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
-Proactive, results-oriented team player with experience working in collaborative, multi-disciplinary environments.
