At the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Institute of Physics, subject to allocation of funds, we are filling the following position as a parental leave replacement starting at the earliest possible date for a limited period until 31.03.2025:

Postdoctoral scientist (m/f/d)

THESE ARE YOUR TASKS:
Within our International Research Training Group IRTG 2676, we are looking for a temporary replacement for a postdoctoral fellow in parental leave. The replacment candidate is expected to make a major contribution to the ongoing work in the International Research Training Group, which should be related to the study and characterization of quantum light. This could involve development of novel analysis protocols, design and fabrication of quantum light sources, or both.
THIS MAKES YOU A GOOD FIT:
completed university degree (state exam, diploma, master's degree or comparable degree) in a STEM subject, very preferably physics or chemistry
PhD degree in a STEM subject
strong background in optical and/or microwave spectroscopy
strong background in fabrication of sources or detectors of quantum light, or tools for its analysis
ability to cooperate in a diverse team and in an interdisciplinary environment
ability to work independently on new topics with curiosity, creativity and passion for research

The experience level is determined individually, taking into account your previous professional experience.
In principle, the position is also suitable for part-time employment. If corresponding applications are received, we will consider whether the part-time wishes can be met within the scope of official feasibilities.
